"A Room for Dad" is a feature film production by Pyjama Pictures and was shot in Hamburg in the fall of 2022.

How does a father remain there for his child - despite separation from the mother and living far apart? This is a question that David Rott, who as a manager in permanent employment, has lost touch with his 12-year-old daughter. Coincidence leads him to a kind of shared apartment that offers separated fathers an inexpensive place to live - "A Bed for Dad". Petra Kleinert, the shirt-sleeved founder of the initiative, makes it possible for separated fathers and their children to live with their families again. The touching ARD Degeto family film, directed by Katja Benrath, winner of the Student Oscar, is inspired by the nationwide aid initiative "Die Familienhandwerker".
