"Sanft schläft der Tod" (Your Children) is a German television psycho thriller from 2016. The premiere was on October 5, 2016 at the Filmfest München, the first broadcast on October 7, 2017 on ARD.  Later, the film is also available on Amazon Video. The plot, based on the screenplay by Holger Karsten Schmidt and directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner, runs towards the question of what intention is really behind the child abduction. It was shot 2015 on the island of Rügen.

Plot: Anja and Frank Mendt take their two children Leila and Finn on a sailing trip on the Baltic Sea off Binz on the island of Rügen. When the parents briefly go ashore, the boat with the children on board is hijacked. When the parents report the kidnapping to the local police, Frank Mendt's father Herbert Winter appears there, having learned of the kidnapping.

Frank broke off contact with his father years ago because he was an investigator for the Stasi in GDR times. Now Herbert Winter wants to help find the kidnapper. He investigated a similar kidnapping case shortly before the fall of the Wall, in which the perpetrator was never caught.
