Staatsoper unter den Linden - Repertory season 08/2018-07/2019
Supporting the make-up department at the "Staatsoper unter den Linden" at various stagings. Extravagant make-up in a short time and quick changes at the stage are everyday life here. Stage make-up, fixing wigs and beards, applying headdresses and bonding bald heads are among the necessary tasks here.
The Staatsoper Unter den Linden, also referred to as "Berlin State Opera" is the oldest opera house in Berlin, it is "the first theater anywhere to be, by itself, a prominent, freestanding monumental building in a city." Under the directorship of Georg Quander, new thematic focuses were set alongside the major works in the repertoire. Significant works that had seen their world premiere in the past were again put up for discussion within the concept of a "Berlin Dramaturgy". Complementing the theater's program are performances of baroque operas such as Cleopatra e Cesare, Croesus, L'opera seria, and Griselda, conducted by baroque specialist René Jacobs with various guest orchestral ensembles on historical instruments.
